SS501 member Park Jung-min will take part in a charity concert in Japan set for next week, revealed his agency CNR Media on Friday.

According to a press release by CNR, Park will participate in a charity concert titled “Friend’s Whistle! Act For Tomorrow!” scheduled for next Friday in Yokohama city, Japan.

The concert which is hosted by UN-OHRLLS, a UN organization specialized in helping least-developed countries or disaster-stricken areas, and music instrument retailer giant YAMAHA Corp, aims to help earthquake victims heal through the power of music through the donation of CD players, MP3s and a number of musical instruments.

The eastern part of Japan was hit by an earthquake and tsunami on March 11, leaving over 21,000 people dead or missing and thousands homeless.

Park, set to fly into Japan next Wednesday for the cause, will perform alongside Japanese duo band Mihimaru GT and receive a certificate from OHRLLS.

Other Korean celebrities who will show up on the same stage will be the boy band Choshinsung, currently pursuing their singing career in Japan.

Japanese singers who will highlight the stage include J-pop diva Utada Hikaru, popular singer-songwriters Shimizu Shota and JYONGRI and multi-entertainer BECKY who is an emcee, singer and an actor.

The highlight of the concert is said to be when all the singers gather on stage to sing a song composed and dedicated for the event by Japanese producer Komuro Tetsuya, famous for discovering many J-pop celebrities including Amuro Namie, TRF and globe.

Park made his debut as one of the members of popular boy band SS501 in 2005 and has appeared in various television shows as well as starring in the musical "Grease."

Last year, he kicked off his solo singing career and released his first solo single "Not Alone" in late January of this year followed by his second album "Enough to Bring To Tears" released early this month.

He is currently busy with his Asia tour and fan meeting in Taiwan, Singapore and Hong Kong and is set to head to Taiwan around mid-May to appear in a TV series in the country.
